Bordered by Lake Istokpoga, Florida's 2nd largest freshwater lake, and surrounded by scrub oaks, Spring Lake Golf Resort in Sebring offers guests the ability to see much of Florida's natural beauty. While the area around Spring Lake has remained largely undeveloped, we are very close to shopping, movies, a dinner theater, bowling, the Sebring International Raceway and other recreational activities.

Our two 18-hole golf courses, our 9-hole Bobcat Run golf course, Victoria's restaurant & Shanker's Pub and friendly faces are here and eager to make your vacation or group outing one to remember!

For Stay & Play golf packages and villa rentals, contact Spring Lake Resort Rentals for information on their spacious, fully furnished two- & three-bedroom villas.

Enjoy exploring our site. When you're ready, call us to reserve your vacation or group outing. Thirty-six holes of championship golf await you!

Meet the Owners

For several years, many Spring Lake residents questioned whether Spring Lake Golf Resort would continue to exist. In April of 2016, Edd and Rita Vowels, successful business owners, took a leap of faith and reinvested their time and money in purchasing the resort.

The Louisville Kentucky natives, along with their three young children, relocated to Sarasota to follow their dream of living in Florida.  Fate intervened and shortly thereafter they both became McDonald’s employees. Edd progressed up the chain of command, working in all facets of the organization.  After 11 years of hard work and dedication, they purchased their first franchise in Bradenton.  After being in the McDonalds business for 42 years, they retired in 2009 and started cruising, spending time in the Smoky Mountains, and travelling in their RV.

In 2014 a local bank took over the resort with the intent to sell it.  With no buyer in sight, the bank was planning to shut down the resort by mid-May.  To save the resort and the property values of the Spring Lake community, someone needed to step up.   That someone was Edd and Rita Vowels.

With the help of many volunteers and members, they continue to strive to return the Resort to it’s former glory and to be “The Place to be in Highland County”.

To quote Mr. Vowels, “The people in Spring Lake are the friendliest people you’ll ever meet”.  That includes the residents, members and staff of the Resort.

We invite you to come and see for yourself!
